WK1.2

This week i have been looking at user habits and the way the use the screen. Majority of key/important information i beleive should run along the top then down the right hand side, this is where we naturally run our eyes along the page on a laptop.

  • I have chosen to have a 'locations option' to allow users to search their location by a map or search anywhere else in NZ on this map for news.
  • i would like to add 'todays newspaper' button which directs you straight to todays newspaper. This could benefit elderly users who find readying the newspaper layout easier (however this will be a digital version)
  • For my cell phone layout i would like to use a hamburger menu on the right hand side down the bottom. With larger phones i personally find it hard to reach to the top left hand side when i usually use my right hand when using my cell phone.
Our thumbs are what do the main navigating on our cellphones so i have decided to put the hamburger menu in the right had corner down the bottom to make this user experience as simple as possible.

App with the navigation the menu down the bottom + hamburger menu in the right side, this menu on the Facebook app swipes to the left and right.
All of my main apps are down the bottom in a navigation bar (easel to get to with my thumbs)

Another app with a main function option in the right hand corner (create new email button)
Instagrams main navigation bar is also down the bottom
